I'm a writer and editor based in Brooklyn, New York. I currently serve as the engagement editor at The Nation, where I write and edit our weekly flagship newsletter and work with award-winning and emerging writers on political commentary, longform features, and reported essays. I am also a contributing editor at Cleveland Review of Books, where I focus on reviews of film, visual art, and fiction and non-fiction books primarily from small presses.
You can find my essays and criticism in The New York Times, The Paris Review, The Nation, The Baffler, The New Republic, The Point, and elsewhere. My writing about book covers has been featured in Bookforum and Publisher's Weekly, cited by YouTubers and TikTokers, and assigned on syllabi at Cleveland Institute of Art, CUNY's Lehman College, and RMIT University, where I have also been a guest lecturer. In 2025, my biographical writing was published in Anonymous Was a Woman: The First 25 Years (Hirmer Publishers & University of Chicago Press). I have received support for my work from the Sundance Institute.
I hold a BA in Political Science from Emory University and an MA in Cultural Reporting & Criticism from New York University, where I taught journalism to undergraduate students and also studied Art History in the Institute of Fine Arts. I'm a proud member of the Newsguild of New York.
